FoG Comes Back with a Spooky Delight!

Same FoG taste; classy new style!

I was treated with a nice surprise this morning when I woke up from a rock hard sleep after flying on a mission for all of two days straight. I knew that our friends over at FoG (a site that is listed in our Favorites directory) were anticipating a new theme, but I never thought that Axiom (FoG’s co-owner and technician) would reel out something this spectacular. Yes, this will be another one of those over-the-top-of-your-head website reviews; but I’m dedicating this one its special place in the header because I’m that impressed with it.

Let’s get started shall we? First and foremost, you have to understand that Footsteps of Ghosts uses the dreadful Forumotion client, which throws a wrench in nearly everything they do administration- and technical-wise. Whenever they want to fix an error or change up the layout they have to leap over some pretty tall hurdles to reach their goal, and even then they usually end up with a plate full of disappointment caused by bad hosting. Let’s face it, Forumotion is light years behind their competition. Almost every other free forum host offers the utilities that FM clients have demanded be provided to them for years. When looking at everything that Fate Foretold (founder and co-administrator) and Axiom have done, their determination to ignore FM’s horrible hosting and boundaries and upgrade the site for their members’ sake is clearly evident. Therefore, a job well-done as far as perseverance goes. Continue reading

Creative-Labz: Many Designers; One Community

I stumbled across this site a little while ago during my exploration of WebArtz, one of our partnering communities, and was absolutely amazed at the complexity of the site and how well it was constructed. The menu bar caught my attention almost instantaneously and I fell in love. This was all before I even started RecAgenda and so I had no reason to request for affiliation. All of my other sites were merely for testing purposes, and with FABA being a Christian- military-oriented website there was no sense in opening up an affiliation to a third-party website about graphics and web-design. However, now that RecAgenda has taken off on a great start with many readers a day (and those highly interested in my Resources, according to my site’s stats – thank you!) I’ve decided to give Creative-Labz another look. I had nearly forgotten about the site until I stumbled across it again at WebArtz. Continue reading

WebArtz: The Art of Web Designing

The WebArtz 1st Anniversary logo appeared on December 7th with the launch of a new theme.

This one might excite my fellow web designers out there. As you know, we’ve recently partnered with Ego-One to bring you guys up to speed on the web design world and give you a good reference for where you can find some awesome tuts on both coding and graphic design. But now we’re beginning to expand that directory of affiliates, starting with our latest partner, WebArtz.

WebArtz brings you The Art of Web Designing Continue reading
